Integrated Information Theory (IIT) + The Hard Problem of Consciousness

Key Insight: The April 2025 Templeton-funded experiment published in Nature put IIT head-to-head against Global Neuronal Workspace Theory (GNWT) — and IIT’s predictions passed while GNWT’s predictions failed. This is the first real empirical test of consciousness theories, funded with $6M and pre-registered by both camps.
